Bonnie

Cat - Bonnie New

Is a very shy lady who takes a long time to warm up to people, and will hide at any loud noise. Once she's comfortable with you, she loves nothing more then to cuddle on the couch. She especially loves to lick anyone who is petting her. She is fluffy and will require brushing which she will tolerate but still requires work on allowing her nails to be trimmed. She would do well in a house with another cat as she often only allows people to touch her after they have pet her brother (Theo) she often plays chase all over the place with her brother but also enjoys a good toy. Bonnie would do better in a house with no small kids as quick movements and noises startle her.

Cat - Jiji

Jiji

Hi, I'm Jiji! I'm around 6 months old and I'm a really friendly cat! I warm up to humans very quickly and I love to explore! Since I'm still young, I have random bursts of energy but I also love nap time. My favorite things are looking outside the window, napping on my cat tree, and playing with my toys. I like to spend time with my humans but can tolerate being on my own as well. I'm very good at using my litter box and eating at my own pace. I haven't had much interactions with other animals or children, so I may need extra time for introductions.

Percy

Cat - Percy

Percy (grey) is an inquisitive little lady who is ready to be whisked away to her happily ever after!

Sadly our sweet Percy suffered an injury when she was born that left her without the lower portions of her hind legs, but she hasn't seemed to notice yet! She sometimes takes her time figuring out how to get from Point A to Point B, but she always figures it out! Percy will need a special home that will accommodate her needs and make sure she feels safe and is able to easily get where she needs to go, but the love she will give you for taking the time will make it all worth it!

Percy can be shy in new places and around new people. She will often choose to find a safe vantage point to take it all in but once you earn her trust she is a true little snugglebug. She loves watching birds from the safety of the catio (but Cat TV is pretty good, too!) and she LOVES her catnip. Especially catnip and scritches. Or catnip and scratching posts!

Percy is a big fan of having cat friends! She would love a home with at least one other social, calm kitty to keep her company. Percy is currently being fostered with her sister Trio and the girls would love to be adopted together, but it is not a requirement of adoption. She hasn't made any dog buddies yet but when she has had doggy visitors she was keen to check them out from a distance.

Percy's perfect home is calmer, with a lot of high, cozy options of beds and perches so that she can easily get out of the way of the action while still being involved with her family.

Lady May

Cat - Lady May

You will fall in love with Lady May.

This humble queen has a rags to riches story that few stray disabled cats are blessed with.

Lady May was dumped on a farm last year and was lucky enough to be given food and an insulated shelter to live in. She has moderate Cerebellar Hypoplasia so although she has a fierce spirit her defences are limited.

Some how she survived being attacked by the farm dog, coyotes and a -30 winter. Unfortunately when the family was moving and Lady May became pregnant there were few options for her. She was posted on a free animal page as a last ditch effort to find her alternative housing and avoid euthanasia.

This is when Lady May found her way to my home. We have had Lady May since March and although she was in pretty rough shape when we got her, she has been ever affectionate and grateful.

Her mobility is limited, so she is content on a ground level without stairs. Athough I am sure she could manage stairs, she is happy to avoid them all together.

She uses a large Tupperware bin converted to a litter box that needs to be changed daily otherwise she will use blankets in her enclosure.

Her diet is a wet and dry blend. Due to the oral care she will need (broken incisors) a wet food is best for her.

She had an ugly UTI (which was treated) when we took her in so moving her off of a dust clay litter is best to avoid reoccurring irritation.

She is brushed daily and loves hugs.

She purrs continuously and has become the most incredible mother.

Dogs, she’s not sure of for obvious reasons. She will growl and set her boundaries with no fear to strike at them if they get too close to her babies.

Other cats she will need to warm up too, although she seems to be happy with the younger cats in the house.

Lady May is still on a survival mentality, only time will heal her emotional wounds. She is very loved and very loving. She deserves an immaculate forever family that can provide her with a calm environment to continue to grow.

She is a young cat with many years ahead of her and will be fully vetted before leaving our care.

Smokey

Cat - Smokey_edited_edited.jpg

Smokey would do well in a home with other cats and dogs. He is still a little unsure of the dogs but as long as they don’t chase him he will be good.

His loves are wet food and snuggling. It took him about a week to settle in and in and to start to show his personality. But now that the cat is out of the bag there is no putting away the snuggle monster.

I have been fostering Smokey with his brother Lynx. They would do well together if someone was looking to add 2 to their family. But they would both be good on their own as well.

Priscilla.jpg

Priscilla

Meet Momma Priscilla, loving momma to Rupert, Thomas, Tiffany and Mabel.

Priscilla is a calmer young adult cat who enjoys a soft bed in a ray of sunshine- after raising a litter of kittens, who can blame her!? After growing up outdoors she is still learning to be comfortable around people in the home but comes around to new people quickly if you let her go at her own pace. As a dignified girl, she prefers sharing space with you over cuddling and affection, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be talked into enjoying the odd chin rub here and there!

Priscilla would do best in a home with another social, confident cat. She thinks it would be pretty cool to stay with her buddy Melody, but adopting the two together is not a requirement. Priscilla does well with all cats with proper introductions and is very curious about the foster’s rowdy resident dogs- we believe a cat-savvy dog would be a great buddy for her as well! She would do best in a home with older/calmer children who can respect her need for space.

Melody

Meet Melody, better known to most as “Auntie Melody.”

When Melody came into foster care with Priscilla we suspected she was pregnant as well, but it wasn’t meant to be. Melody didn’t let the lack of having her own kittens hold her back, though- she just borrowed Priscilla’s kittens instead! Whenever Priscilla needed a break Melody would step in and take over cuddling, grooming, and playing duties.

Now that the kittens have moved on to their new homes, it is time for Miss Melody to find her forever home as well! Melody is still learning to be comfortable around humans- after all, she grew up outdoors and living indoors is still very new to her. While she takes time to warm up to new people she is a very social, affectionate girl, and will jump at the chance to sit near you, often kneading and purring away. If you are patient enough to let her go at her own pace she will eventually reward you with the most intense cuddles and head rubs possible. This stunning green-eyed girl is full of loving potential for the right family- she just needs you to find her!

Cat - Patches

Patches

Patches is sweet and good-natured.  She has started to warm up to her foster family and allows some petting.  She spends her time cuddling with Larry and loves to look out the window.  She has started to explore the house and likes to sleep on her kitty tree or a soft blanket when available.  She is not interested in the dogs, but also not intolerant if they get close, she will choose to hide instead.

Larry

Larry is very loving with his kitty friends and often found snuggled up on the bed with one of his pack or looking out the window.  Larry is vocal and will tell me when he'd like food, his second favourite thing.  He is a shy guy that is just starting to interact and sniff hands.  He loves to explore and play, especially once the big dogs go to bed.  He is tolerant of dogs, and is looking like he'd like to make friends with them as well.

Cat - Beefcake & Mikka.jpeg

Beefcake & Mikka
(Bonded Pair)

Beef and Mikka are a delightful bonded pair of orange tabbies looking for a quiet forever home. They are very calm and content cats who love to spend their days relaxing in their cat tree. They have met the two resident male cats who are a bit bossy. They don't overly care for eachother. They met a young male and female cat we were babysitting, and that went well. So I think it comes down to the temperaments of your cats. They have met our dog and are rather ambivalent over her. She is a calm 9year old HuskyX, who isn't interested in chasing cats.  She does say hello with a nose bop, but is more interested in helping them eat. These guys may feel differently about more active dogs? They have also met children aged 8 and up. They were fine with it, but I think they would prefer a quieter environment as they have set up shop in our teen daughter's bedroom and find her sleepy days totally their style. Both cats are eating well and use the litter box consistantly.

Beef is a darling of an old tom with beautiful chubby cheeks that call out for massaging. Beef is a 4 year old male who is so happy to move into his comfortable retirement with full food dishes and a steady supply of cuddles. He spends most of his night purring mixed in with adorable tiny grunts. Night time is his absolute favorite time for cuddles and exploring the house, but he is quite compliant any time of day. He is great with being carried all over our home, but prefers to sleep his days away in his cat tree. He has found himself lost a few times when scared/startled and he calls out for his foster moma with an adorable baby kitten mew. Quite comical coming from such a big tom. Beef is such a quiet and clean boy. We have no problems cleaning his ears, trimming nails. He is great at grooming himself, but won't argue if you want to groom him with one of those brush/mitts.  My daughter even gave him a very wet sponge bath to see how he would tolerate it. He was a bit pouty through the experience, but handled it just fine.

Mikka is a rare 3 year old ginger female tabby. Since such gorgeous fur is carried on a recessive gene on the X chromosome, a female needs 2 of these recessive genes to look as beautiful as Mikka does. She has such a sweet tiny little head with big beautiful eyes. She is brave, being the first to explore new spaces and an absolute cuddle/purr machine. She prefers to keep her feet on the ground, but that doesn't stop her from finding her foster mom and insisting on a full body massage and head bops. She loves to sleep with her foster mom, often on or beside her pillow. I have never seen a cat take to brushing as well as Mikka. She leans into the furminator or brush mitt with surprising force. She doesn't groom herself very much, so a human that is willing to help her with this would be important. She is often found lounging on the top level of the cat tree or in the window ledge soaking in fresh air and sunshine. Mikka also received a sponge bath, while clearly not her favorite moment with us, she did pretty good. I'm sure I could not have washed our resident cats without losing an arm. Mikka allows us to trim her nails and wash her ears without complaint.

These two have been in foster care for some time now and long for their furever home together. Hope you will come and say hello soon!!
